Ka Ua Paliloa is the parent-teacher partnership of two unique school programs. We serve keiki and ʻohana from Preschool – 8th grade currently and adding a grade each year through our innovative partnership with Honokaʻa High School.
Pūnana Leo follows the ʻAha Pūnana Leo preschool curriculum.
ʻAlo Kēhau Iki follows Nāwahī rigorous curriculum from kindergarten to 8th grade.
ʻAlo Kēhau Nui builds further on the groundwork previously set forth with project- and place-based learning.
All education is founded in the indigenous educational philosophy of the Kumu Honua Mauli Ola.
Parents and staff are still working to ensure we reach our goal of having a Pre-K – 12 Hawaiian language medium program here in Waimea that will be in existence for many generations to come.
We are the ONLY Hawaiian language medium school in Kohala and all of North Hawaiʻi.
